Hanbell Precision Machinery, a leading Chinese manufacturer of compressors and vacuum pumps, recently announced in an investor relations briefing that its vacuum pump products are actively expanding into new application areas beyond their core photovoltaic and semiconductor markets.
The company's vacuum products are now progressively penetrating multiple downstream high-end manufacturing sectors, including lithium batteries, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, display manufacturing, LED manufacturing, optical communications, coating, specialty gases, and heat treatment.
In 2025, Hanbell’s vacuum pump product revenue experienced a decline, primarily due to market volatility in the photovoltaic industry. However, the company assesses that the photovoltaic sector is now gradually recovering, and the negative impact on its vacuum pump business will continue to diminish, with the business expected to return to a steady growth trajectory.
Hanbell's vacuum products have already gained recognition from several domestic chip manufacturers and have achieved mass supply, covering new production line expansions and the replacement of aging vacuum pumps. The company is also conducting product testing and validation with new customers and new processes, continuously expanding its market application space.
The company noted that semiconductor vacuum pump localization is progressing steadily in the Chinese market. In the first quarter of 2026, Hanbell achieved stable growth in its semiconductor vacuum business with new customer breakthroughs, while validation work with customers for advanced process nodes (14nm and below) is ongoing in the Taiwan region.
This strategic expansion reflects the broader trend among leading domestic vacuum pump manufacturers to diversify from single-sector focus into multi-field comprehensive development, and confirms the increasingly widespread application prospects of vacuum pump technology in new energy, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and other high-end manufacturing sectors.
